I'm not coming here for anything in particular, except good writing, so a chapter of nothing but jokes is fine with me, as long as they're funny, and maybe move a little bit of characterization forward. So I liked this chapter, as I've liked the rest (though it's not my favorite so far, that would be A Letter and Office Hours).
As for the nymph, despite reading about 27,000 words on her, I feel like we're only just getting to know her and what she's going to be to the story. I DO like her, as a character and as a 'deus ex' as it were, but I don't think I want to talk about her yet... maybe after our next two or three encounters with her that will change (in particular when more characters than just Charlie have been forced to deal with her).
Anyway, glad to hear that you're still working on this, even if slowly.
