Somehow, your look at an epilogue here seems more likely than JKR's 19 years later. The idea that the 'right thinking' elements of the MoM could maintain control is not at all unexpected for post-V especially if it is revealed that both Tom Riddle and Potter are half-bloods. I'm just surprised there weren't more attempts to assassinate Harry & Hermione after the battle and after they left.
