This is great!! At first I was a little confused, but then it hit me that it switched from Gerard to Frank. It took me a while, but that's just because I can be a bit dumb sometimes. Anyway, I really liked that you did the switching. It was a clever idea. I've only read one where the point of view was switched like every few sentences. It was sort of annoying. I think the way you did it was really creative. I liked that they would say something about Mikey and then have a memory about it. It was very original and very well executed. I've never seen anything like it before. I liked the idea for this because I always like to see how other people would write Frank's reaction to Mikey's death. When it's just Gerard he either cries a little and gets over it, cries a lot and falls into a deep depression, or kills himself. You don't really see Frank's reaction, so I'm really glad to have seen that. I also liked that Gerard didn't do any of those things in this. I've read too many like that. I really liked the way you've written both of their point of views. It showed how they each felt about Mikey, and how their feelings were similar and different. The way they talked to Mikey in their memories and the way they thought about him were written in such a way that you could tell the difference. They weren't so similar to the point where you're like "Wait. Is this Gerard or Frank?" and it's not so different where it doesn't work with the story. I think they were written really well. I also liked the funeral scene. This is a oneshot, and I think that you very clearly showed how much Frank loves Mikey. Sometimes it can be difficult to get across important details, but I think you did this very well. I really loved this. Wonderful job.

Author's response

Thank you very much; I'm soooo very pleased that you think this is alright! Sorry that it was confusing in the beginning, that was kinda what I was worried about with this.
I'm relieved that you liked the switching, it felt like a risk so it's really good to know that you thought I did it alright and not annoying as I had feared. I have a bit of an obsession at the moment with the idea of sad Mikey stories and I normally either do Frikeys or brotherly things, so I really wanted to combine the two to show how something like Mikey's suicide affected them both. I wanted them to be different people, but kind of simillar in the ways that they cared about Mikey.
Thank you very much for taking the time to leave such a kind and detailed review; it really does motivate me to write! :)
