Interesting political/history lesson!
Why is Harry going to such lengths to ensure that Voldemort will wait until the third task to snatch him, and take him off the Hogwarts grounds ... when that's exactly what happened in the original history anyway?

Harry appears far less bumbling and helpless in this fic (remember, he was only so successful in canon because of Crouch Junior's help). Harry wants Voldemort anxious to get his hands on Harry, but not to jump the gun.
Think about it. The fake Moody could have given Harry a portkey at almost any time. Voldemort wanted this to happen during the third Task so that he could return Harry's dead body to a crowd.
