I agree with everything except this:
"I have very little to say on this. I just don’t want to read a story where someone walks downstairs to make a cup of coffee, the end.".
Unless you're speaking literally, this could be a good oneshot if the main character was reflecting on something important in their life, or something interesting happens on their way to get said cup of coffee. Also, you sound kinda high maintenance, like you only read the best of the best. May not be the case, but just an observation.

It was more talking literally, because if it was based on reflections of life then it's not just walking downstairs for coffee XD I definitely get what you mean with that though and it's a great point :)
