Yeah, my reason is because a lot of them are songs. I don't enjoy lyrics if I can't hear the music to go with it. Simple as that. For your written story work? The summery doesn't grab my attention.

You could at least try. Give them a quick read, see if you like them. Simple as that. And as for the lyrics? Once again, just read over them. Imagine the music in your head.
