Personally have to disagree with SirRealism. I agree with the concept of "there can be too much facts in a story," and have run into stories where I stopped reading because of that (for those of you who think there is too much, why not stop reading instead of annoying the author who gives you the story--great way to motivate them to continue writing. "I hate how you enjoy writing, make the story how I like it instead!"). I have also read stories with a medium amount of details and such that were presented poorly and without any background (story starts with 3 ch of explanation, no plot development)--also stopped reading. While the centaur chapter might have been a bit more than usual (Harry going on and on about different mechanisms that can go wrong in a gun--the general statement Hermione ended with would have sufficed), I still liked how it impacted the storyline and actively changed how the fey group can interact with the world (muggle items/objects, can't live with Hermione's parents as of now). Also, since there was a lot of action developed and the explanations were nicely lead into, I didn't mind reading it through. But that's just me.
