Sweets, I'm a parents too, and even though my daughter is MUCH younger, anything she does wrong is pretty much my fault.

But that's because she's younger.
I'm supposed to be a really smart person (I go to an all girls school for smart kids) but my grades are terrible. Everyone else has A* and I have Cs and a few Bs. It's my fault for being so useless.
