I realize this was written quite a while back but I just stumbled upon it and I am rather surprised that no one has commented on it. The story itself is pretty original and took me quite by surprise. I really appreciate just how realistic it is. And as someone who waited for her best friend to come home when he was shipped overseas, it really hit home. The writing itself is very good. It's impressive to see someone's work when they've found their own voice. Keep writing.
