Nice way to shift the balance of who is who in Harry Potter. The shift on birthdays was a nice touch. Good way to get Luna introduced early and in a manner that is unavoidably correct and believable.
The way you treated "moRon" was nice. I honestly think that is one of the better ways I've seen his intro shifted in a while.
Getting Neville in the cabin worked. Without Hermione sharing his cabin, there would be no reason for him NOT to roam around looking for his almost brother.
Are you going to shift Ginny's birthday as well to make her a level lower than she is in canon?
It would only really take about 2 weeks. I think that would make her in the same year as that Vane chit. Hee Hee.
