Why couldn't Bumblemore have been killed instead of Luna? He is superfluous to the fight and will be his normal obstacle to the Greater Good.
I want Luna back,
Poor Mr Lovegood--he'll probably kill himself or waste away, while Albus continues to Bumble along.
