A Trainer's Journey

More fun stuff. I'm really amazed with your plot foreshadowing here. Very nice. Even better were the battle scenes.

One thing for you to work on, though, in an action sequence, your characters don't have too much time to think. Strategy is the long term plan that falls to pieces as soon as things begin to happen. Tactics are the short term solutions to keep things from falling apart. When you write action sequences don't take time out to analyze every move. Josie yells an order, and Derek reacts, Jiroo sees it coming, and he reacts. It comes down to instinct in these scenes. If you skip the discusion of strategy until after the blows are delt the battle flows much better as a whole piece of writing.

Anyway, good stuff. Marvelous kudos for writing such fun action pieces. Until next review -- hopefully in a few minutes -- catch the tiger by the tail.
