I've always wondered how Faramir felt when he awakened after his healing, asked for his father, and got very peculiar and insufficient answers as per Gandalf's instructions to the Warden. Eventually it had to occur to Faramir that he was being stalled. This is a gentle, sweet look at the start of that process; with well-meaning people trying to put off terrible truths on behalf of a man who had already endured enough horror.
