I can't help but feel sorry for Dumbledore in the end. For all that he is the author of his own downfall, it is still a pitiable end for such a great wizard.
An interesting story through and through. A bit wordy at times but never enough to make one want to skip ahead.
Your particular style is growing on me and I think that you are right to keep shipping largely out of your longer stories. Going off on romantic tangents (as JKR herself found in HBP) can sometimes be a distraction and, unless well plotted, can detract from the story.
Overall a good job. Looking forward to more from you.
