Time and Tide

"the resonate heartbeat." Resonant? Resonating?

"Longboat" is one word.

"That compass of his presses into her hip; it has remained unopened for months." Hm... a double meaning perhaps? And the flash of green in Jack's eyes.

I'm not sure exactly what's happening near the end -- is Jack standing there with her when she's waiting to meet Will? A reread suggests it's only the boy. -- but it's been a reflective ride.

Author's response

Jack is standing there with her - at least, that was my intention.

Looking at it again I suppose you could see him as being in her thoughts rather than a physical presence.
