Chaos theory; a nargle flaps its wings in China, and Luna responds differently to Harry during their conversation before the leaving feast.. AU starting near the end of OoTP. Harry/Luna/Hermione. N...
- What i like here is that you have protrayed one of the best plot tools imaginable and did it well.
Plus throughout this story you have portrayed Luna as her canon personality and not changed her into a mystic superwoman as some tend to do!
Author's responseThanks Dennis,
Trying to write a 'real' Luna has been one of my main objectives. That's not to say I don't enjoy some of the ways fanon!Luna has been portrayed.
You've mentioned superseer!Luna, already, and there is also mask!Luna where she's just pretending to be odd.
I think either of those options end up turning Luna into something that she isn't, which I think does her a disservice.
- He missed the obvious way to get out of being pranked - become a marauder. I love that he got Remus. Very well written.
Author's responseYou got it, well done.
Remus was impressed to start with, but unfortunately Harry failed when he caved too soon because of his panic over being embarrassed in front of the girls. He really needed his Gryffindor side to have taken over if he wanted to avoid getting too pranked too much. Remus would have given him a break out of professional courtesy.
Lunch isn't over yet, so I wonder what'll happen next? :)
- Nicely developed, and Harry both got Remus and weaseled out of the prank war, if not the explanations (although I think Mr Granger will feel worse)
Author's responseThanks DrT,
Harry really should have taken Moony's hint rather than chicken out. Like the man said, if you're not a lion, then you're a zebra (ok, so I'm paraphrasing)..
As someone who got a prank Talk myself, i really appreciated this one, and i love that Dan was roped in as well. Now, i fully expect the guys to grow tired of trying to out-blush each other and make common cause with Dan for his retaliation on his wife by continuing the conversation in the ladies presence, using hideous metaphors. Car-talk can be funny, as can the food metaphor be pulled all out of shape.
Or the prank my Dad played on my eavesdropping Mum.
"Son, you know about the bees and the flowers, right?"
"Can't really say i do."
"Well, the bees fuck the flowers. Questions?"
(#) Wonderbee31 2008-08-06 07:38:43 PMThis was a fun chapter here, and loved how you had Harry get Remus there, and his reaction to Remus' challenge as well. I also like How Minerva stepped up to Moody somewhat, and the way that the girls are handling things. I do wonder what will happen, will this be a new trio of Love, or is there going to end up being hurt feelings on one point or another? Should be fun to see Albus and his reaction when Minerva shows up, and if Severus will be there to help the Headmaster out, and the fallout if things go Min's way.
