Come follow me, join me
On that tired, grimy road
To the state of half awake at the edge of no-one-knows

I’d sit and watch the horizon (which is hardly something new)
Just before the sun had set
Before the light had faded
Faded but not gone, just seen a transformation
Smudged and melted
And got lost in a smoky midnight hue

And when the thought of it is enough motivation
To drag me out under the lazy darkened sky
And I look for something more
When the trees are thick with neon light

I look for inspiration
From wherever, God knows where.

And see flashing signs,and billboards
That tell me what I need
That tell me I have nothing
That tell me I am nothing
I will never be a billboard
So I may as well go back

When I look back where I came from
And I miss the sun for all colours of the smog
Would there be another?
Others waiting with me, would we watch the horizon
Or would they listen to the billboards…
And will I be alone?
