Brothers and Sisters:

The day of the merger at to the hectic whirlwind known as Rose's life. Everyone was doing their best to make the newbies feel at home. Vanessa was plotting to recruit some of them to her Back-Up Squad. (And also trying to get a date.) Adam and Rose were in the clouds and didn't care. The others were just excited. Katherine decided to make the most of this new change. This was what Beach Radio Magazine needed to get bigger. She was now finally getting her wish.

The newbies came at ten o'clock as Harry promised. They were all an interesting breed of characters. They all seemed to form new friendships/enemies pretty quickly. Some were as if they had worked at BRM all along.

Tim:

Tim was the first one to arrive. He was born in Dublin, Ireland in 1982. His hair was short and black. The first thing about him that caught Vanessa's attention was his pale baby blue eyes. Tim had a boyish face to him. Today, he had a loose black t-shirt, baggy jeans with a chain hanging off of the belt loops, and cork sandals. Vanessa studied Tim for a long time. A long smile came across her face. "He'll be perfect for my Back-Up Squad!" she thought in excitement. So, the journalist approached the first newbie.

Tim was looking around when he noticed a blonde woman walking towards her. A light smile came across his face.

"Well, hello there, lass!" he greeted her. Vanessa couldn't help but to go pink at his words. But, she had to focus.

"Hi," Vanessa said in a cheerful tone. "I'm Vanessa Reed." Then, she held out her hand to him. Tim smiled at her and took her hand as well. They both shook on that.

"Tim O'Neal," the Irish man said.

"Love your accent!" she called.

"Thanks!" Tim said to her. Vanessa took a long while to stare in his lovely blue eyes before speaking again. "No!" she thought "Must stay focused!"

"Is there something you want?" Tim asked her. Vanessa quickly returned to Earth.

"What?" she asked.

"You wanted something, yeah?" the Irish man asked. Vanessa quickly regained her head.

"Uh, yeah," she said at last. "I'm holding a meeting in lounge around lunch. Want to come?" Tim smiled his winning smiled at her.

"Sure," he said. Vanessa smiled at him brightly.

"Great!" she said called. "See you then!" Then, they let go and part ways. Vanessa walked away smiling to herself. That was one recruit. Now, to find a few more to kick off Operation: Prose once again.

Tommy:

The girls were all crowded around the entry way at Tommy. He was setting his new desk in his new cubicle. He was a fine man to look at. Short blonde hair perfectly cut. It looked all curly as well. He looked like a jock. Tommy was dressed in faded black jeans, a dark green soccer jersey, and black sneakers. The girls just couldn't take their eyes off of him. Rose walked in on the group. She looked at all of her female co-workers confused.

"What's going on?" she asked them. They didn't answer her at first. Sakura just pointed forward. Rose looked where she was pointing. She saw Tommy setting up his desk. Rose just gave a little shrug.

"One of the new guys?" she asked.

"Yep!" Noriko said in excitement.

"Tommy Renton," Sakura added. "He's twenty-four and he comes from Scotland!"

"Really?" Rose asked.

"Yeah!" all of the girls said. Rose looked at Tommy again. He did look kind of cute now.

"Hm," she said in reply. Then, Tommy looked up and noticed that there was an audience. The girls quickly scattered away back to work. The Scottish man just smiled to himself, shook his head, and went back to work. The girls were all walking away smiling to themselves. They now had a stud to watch while they worked.

Miranda:

A woman came up behind Tommy. She noticed all of the scattering women.

"What was all of that about?" she asked in confusion.

"Beats me, love!" Tommy replied. Then, he turned and looked up at his girlfriend. Miranda was a tiny Welsh woman. Her hair was dark brown that came down to her small shoulders. Her eyes were a lovely pale blue. She was wearing a cute lime green summer dress. Her sandals matched her hair clips. Tommy couldn't help but to stare into his girlfriend's cute eyes. Miranda came over and hugged him tight. She stood on her tip-toes and kissed him on the lips. The couple was interrupted by someone clearing their throat. They looked up and saw Greg staring at them.

"Oh, I'm sorry," he said. "Is this a bad time?" The couple quickly let go of each other.

"Oh no!" Tommy said quickly. "It's fine!"

"Oh!" Greg said aloud. "Office romance, huh?"

"Yeah!" Tommy and Miranda said together.

"How long?" Greg asked them.

"Five years," Miranda announced.

"Wow!" the blonde nerd said to them. "I'm Greg, by the way!"

"I'm Tommy," the Scottish man replied. "And this is my girlfriend, Miranda Stone."

"Hello," Miranda said to Greg. Then, they all shook hands. The nerd was happy to find some new friends to talk to at last.

"Uh, I think you'll like it here!" Greg spoke up. Miranda smiled at him kindly.

"Thanks," she said. "I know, I feels it!" Greg smiled back at the couple. He could feel it too.

Garry:

Vanessa was searching around for another recruit when she ran into her second guy. He was tall with short blonde hair. He looked somewhat buff. The man was all dressed up in complete causal wear with jeans, a brown t-shirt, sandals, and a small gold chain around his neck. Vanessa couldn't lie. She was attracted to him right away. It looked like Tim would have some competition for her in her heart. But, that would be worried with later. Vanessa had a mission to take care of first. She straightened herself up and walked over to the man. Garry was looking around the new place when he noticed that someone was standing right next to him. He looked down and saw short little Vanessa looking up at him. She was grinning at him like a Cheshire cat.

"Hello!" she called. The man stared at her confused for a moment.

"Uh... hi..." he said at last. Vanessa held out her hand to him.

"I'm Vanessa Reed," she said to him. "Resident gossip hound." Garry took her hand as well and shook it uneasily.

"Garry Slater," he said to her. Vanessa's eyes lit up brightly.

"Oh, you're English?" she asked.

"Yeah," Garry said.

"What part?" the woman asked him.

"Manchester," he replied. Vanessa was really smiling now. She was really into him now. Tim was really in for a battle for her heart now! But, she had to stay focused right now.

"Hey," Vanessa said. "I'm holding a meeting in lounge around lunch. Want to come?" There was a slight pause between. Garry shrugged at her.

"I guess," he said. Vanessa smiled at him brightly.

"Great!" she replied. Then, the gossip hound let go of his hand and walked away grinning. "Sweet!" Vanessa thought. "I'm on a roll today!" Operation: Prose was waking back up again. Now, it was time to go to work! But first, she needed a couple more people to have the fight together.

Gareth:

Vanessa met the next recruit within seconds. This newbie was a black man. He was a fine-looking brother. He was dressed semi-nice with a t-shirt and black dress pants. The man was turning on his new computer. The woman decided to make this one quick. She was on a roll after all. Vanessa couldn't break the chain. So, she made it over to him causally.

Gareth was setting up shop for his first day when he noticed that someone was behind him. He slowly turned around annoyed. He was about to shout something at Rachel when he saw Vanessa looking at him grinning. She held out her hand to him.

"Hello there," said she. "I'm Vanessa Reed!" Gareth uneasily took her hand and shook it as well.

"Gareth Wells," he said. Vanessa kept her smile at him. She noticed that he didn't have an accent like the other two guys that she had met earlier. But, it didn't matter. Vanessa needed all of the recruits she could get if she was going to get Pete and Rose together as a romantic couple.

"I'm holding a meeting in lounge around lunch. Want to come?" she asked. There was a heavy pause between them. Gareth shrugged at her as he let go her hand.

"Sure, I guess," he replied. Vanessa smiled at him.

"Sweet!" she said.

"Uh... okay..." Gareth said at last.

"Gareth!" a female's voice snapped. "What are you doing?!?" Both of them looked up to see a woman glaring at them coldly.

Rachel:

Vanessa looked at this new woman closely. She was a tall white woman just like her. Her hair was long and dark red with thick bangs on her forehead. Her deep brown eyes were filled with anger. She was dressed with a silver-grey halter top that showed her cleavage, tight black short shorts, and silver kitten heels. Her hands were firmly on her hips. She looked like she could breathe fire any second now.

"What is all of this?!?" the woman barked. "And who the hell is she?!?" Gareth sighed aloud.

"Rachel," he said. "This is Vanessa Reed." He turned to his new co-worker.

"Vanessa," Gareth said. "This is my Rachel." Vanessa grinned at Rachel wickedly. She had found another opportunity to increase her Back-Up Squad even more. Vanessa stood up straight and smiled at the newbie girl.

"I was just inviting Gareth here to a meeting in lounge around lunch. Want to come too?" she explained. Rachel looked over at the black man.

"Is this true?" she asked.

"Yeah!" Gareth said with a shrug.

"So..." Vanessa said to her. "You want to come?" She and Gareth waited for her answer. Rachel finally shrugged at them.

"Okay," she said. "But if I find out that you're trying to seduce Gareth, I'm going to kill you, you slut!" Vanessa just shrugged at her.

"Whatever," she said. Then, the gossip hound headed back to her cubicle. Now, she was ready to pick up Operation: Prose once again.

Beth:

Amanda was sitting at her desk typing when she heard footsteps walking towards her. She looked up and saw her other number one rival. Beth Thompson was everything Mandy wanted to be. Her hair was long and blonde to her waist. She had crystal-sapphire blue eyes. Her breasts were big and perky. Beth looked hot in anything that she wore. Today, she had on a short tight light blue sundress. She had the kitten heels and glittery hair clips to match. She always got anything and everything that she wanted. Beth was also always so content with life and made friends with everyone too easily. Everything about her made Mandy want to scream out and puke. Beth was even worse than Rose at times. Amanda just rolled her eyes in anger. She despised them both so badly. She just wanted what they have now and what she once had. Beth made it over to her.

"Hello there, Mandy!" she called out to her old friend-enemy.

"It's Amanda!" the other journalist snapped.

"Hey," Beth said sounding sweet. "Can't I make good conversation with an old friend?"

"You and I are not friends!" Mandy snapped. "We both know that!" Beth just shrugged at her.

"Never too late to change that," she said. Mandy rolled her eyes annoyed again.

"Just saying," Beth said.

"What do you want?!?" Mandy snapped. "Why are you here?!?" Beth smiled at her.

"Haven't you heard?" she asked her rival.

"Heard what?" Mandy snapped.

"Katherine just hired me today!" Beth chirped. "I'm working with Beach Radio Magazine now!" Amanda froze in shock and horror.

"WHAT?!?" she yelped out in pale fright.

"That's right!" Beth said cheerfully.

"B-B-But I thought that you were a freelance journalist!" Mandy cried out.

"I was," Beth said. "But I got tired of roaming and decided to stay still for a while. Besides, Beach Radio Magazine intrigues me. I just had to dive in and check it out for myself!" Mandy thought that she was going to be sick. Her worst nightmare was coming true. Rose being the start journalist of BRM was bad enough. Now, Mandy would have Beth prancing around the building like she owned the place while reminding her that she was everything that she used to be. Beth smiled at her in a sickeningly sweet way.

"Isn't this great!" she called. "We'll be working together now!"

"Yeah," Mandy said sounding unhappy. Beth hugged her wildly. It took Mandy all of her strength now to throw up all over the place. After a few seconds, her rival let go of her and walked away smiling. Mandy thought she was going to have another headache coming on. "What did I do to deserve all of this?!?" she thought in stress. Mandy sighed hard and aloud. This job just got longer for her. Now what was next?
