This is a public service anouncement, this is only a test Emergency evacuation protest...
It was Monday morning and i was being woken up by ... Green Day - Warning. Damn alarm! I was not in the mood today. I recently just moved from New York to this crappy town Chicago. My mom and dad decided it would be good to get away from the big city. It totally wasn't they never realised that me being a teenager just going into seniour year would be hard enough, but they go and move halfway across the country ? this didn't seem fair !
I climbed out of bed and looked at the clock. It was way too early for me to be getting out of bed but school sucks and I have to go to it. The worst part of this is going to a school where I dont know anyone, and to make everything just so much more beautiful my younger brother is going to be in the year below me. My life officaly sucks, in my old school I was pretty popular.... ha got ya! I wasn't I had a few close friends, god i'm gonna miss them. one good thing about this new town is there isnt so much traffic and its not as dangerous as New York, so my dad will finally allow me to get a car, now I passed my drivers test like a year ago. Hoping my dad finally allows me fingers crossed.
I ran to my closet and picked out the first thing that I could find, which was a pair of black skinnys, blink 182 t-shirt and converse. I love my converse so much. I took the quickest shower you could ever imagine, and done my hair you know the usual, dry and straighten it. Make up was next but I wanted to keep that natural to not confuse people and scare them. I just put a little eyeliner on and some pink lipgloss.
I ran downstairs and into my new kitchen with a cheery smile on. I had to pretend to my family that this move wasnt going to effect me as a person and so far I think ive done pretty well. My kid brother Jamie smiled at me, [he was only 10 and I loved that guy]. Then I got the best welcome from my other brother Josh [he was 16] He threw a towel at my head, nice. I have another brother but hes in Florida living with his girlfriend and their kid. My mom and dad have been married for about 20 years which scares the shit outta me but at the same time it gives me peice of mind that love does exsist
"Mom what time will you be home from work at?" I asked patiently
"I dont know sweety, if im not home around 6 then give me a call" she replied
"Sure thing mom, crap I gotta go school starts in 30 minutes and I have to walk there" I stated before grabbing my bag and running out.
I was having some trouble finding the same route my dad showed me to get to school when i heard Josh calling on me.
"Hayley! wait up for me!" he yelled.
"Why didnt you leave when I did?" I questioned Josh
"You left too quickly and I had to go upstairs and get my school bag then you had left" he said in between breaths.
"Okay kid lets get to school, im dreading this arent you?" I said casually
"Umm nope, you know me I dont care about people unless their cool and want to be friends with me" Josh said
"We're so different sometimes I wonder if we have the same parents" I laughed
"I am totally adopted if thats what you mean" Josh laughed
"Oh I know" I winked at him
"Okay sis I'll see you after school meet me here okay bye" he said before disapearing.
Josh was gone before I could reply. I looked around the school scared, so many people and none of them I knew. I wanted to throw up but I decided to go to the front office to get my time table.
"Hey im new here and have no clue what im doing" I said to the lady in the office
"Whats your name dear?" she asked politely
"Hayley Scott" I replied quickly
"Ahh heres your timetable and a map of the school I hope you have a good first day and enjoy this year, it is your last year at high school" she smiled
"Uhh thanks" I smiled back
I looked at the map first and look for my first class, it was art. shit I love art but I am not going to find this place, I wonder how Josh is getting on? I'll maybe see him at lunch hopefully.
I looked on the walls for signs to where I was and then I found one that said "Art Department ->" I sighed with relief and then the bell rung for first period. I almost cried I was dreading this but here goes.
