  Go Luna! I wouldn't put it past her to have something sharp and pointy on hand in case her wand got snitched.
  
  "Granger had emplaced runic shields around Bones and himself" Uh... Did Hermione have an operation that we don't know about?
  
  You say "the girls" a little too often. It's as if Voldemort was thinking, "How shall I lure Harry Potter? Ah! With hot chicks!"
  
  Snape seems a little too big to get scooped up. Plus, couldn't Hermione just levitate him like at the end of PoA?
  
  I don't buy Dumbledore's motivation.

  Umm, I didn't kill him off. I supposed it could be implied that he jumped but that isn't what i intended. He 'decided' to not spy on Harry. Snape is one of my favorites also :)

  Nice short story. One remark: your use of 'emplaced' stopped my reading for a moment, this was a word use I am unfamiliar with, but it could just be that english is not my first language. But could it not just be replaced with 'placed'?
  
  BTW, I had no problem with connecting himself in Ithilwen's review with Snape.
