Settling

I can’t see your face,
so I settle for your voice.
I can’t feel your touch,
so I settle for your words.
I can’t be with you now,
so I settle for my memories.
Distance pulls us further,
but our hearts keep us close.
While it can be rough,
trying, difficult,
it is but for now.
I rest in peace,
knowing,
if it matters greatly to us,
time and distance
have no real power.
