Stronger Than I Thought

Trying to stop hurting myself. Never easy, and never completely ezplainable.

Stronger Than I Thought

Quiet I love yous made of glass,
Seething goodbyes, ready to pass,
The words are so pretty, but ready to shatter,
And when a goodbye slips out, they don't even matter

A plastic heart cannot feel,
How can I believe your I love yous were real?
I know you said I'd make it on my own,
But my misery won't carry me home

When I think of you now, I want to reach for the knife,
But I'm stronger than that, I'm stronger than life,
This world cannot break me, and it never will,
I'll paint my sorrow by the window sill

I glue on my smile when I wake in the day,
I strip the emotion from my eyes, no one will see my pain,
You left me broken and all alone,
I'll climb to my feet; no amount of misery will carry me home

A/N: An attempt to restart my life and turn it completely around. Seems appropriate that it be kicked off with an inspiring poem about struggle and prevailing over your inner self.
