Comments make me smile, inside and out. :)
We had been sitting in silence for the last hour... possibly longer. After the shock of both of our stories, I know that at least, I didn't want to say anything else. I had been sneaking glances at Jacob. Everyone once in a while I would get caught looking at him, which means that he was looking at me too. It made me feel weird all over. It was a feeling I hadn't really felt before, until now... I couldn't help but think that I might be liking him.
I looked up at him again, and he was looking at me, but this time he didn't look away. He smiled and held my gaze for a while. I was about to look away when, out of nowhere, I felt his lips press lightly to mine. It only lasted a few seconds... but it was one of the most exhilarating experience of my life, and I didn't want it to end.
After it had happened I looked at him, and he was blushing. I smiled, though I could tell that I was blushing too.
He smiled, "Sorry about that..."
I shook my head, "Nothing to be sorry about."
His smile widened, "Really...?"
He nodded, "So... where does that put us then?"
I shrugged, "I'm not sure... What do you think?"
He smiled, "This is what I think..." He pressed his lips to mine again, this time more aggressive. He put his hands on the small of my back and pulled me closer to his body. I wrapped my arms around his neck and pulled him deeper into the kiss. And, just like that, it was over. He sighed and shook his head. I could tell that he was blushing, but why...?
I turned around to see what he was looking at and I too, started blushing. There was a young couple hurriedly walking past us, pretending like they didn't see anything.
I turned back to Jacob and we both started laughing, "Well... that was weird."
He nodded, "Very weird." He glanced over at the clock, "Maybe we should get going, school will be out soon."
I nodded and he helped me off the table. We walked back to the school, hand in hand.
When we finally arrived, there were kids everywhere. The bell had just rung. I was going in the direction of my house, when Jacob pulled my hand in the other direction. I gave him a puzzled look and he laughed, "I'm giving you a ride."
I shook my head, "I don't know Jacob... People might start talking..."
He smiled, "So, let them talk. Who cares about them anyway?"
I sighed and let him pull me to his car. As I got in, I couldn't help but notice all of the staring eyes that were on us. I looked straight ahead, trying not to make eye contact with anyone. It didn't work as well as I had planned. Thankfully, Jacob soon was pulling out of the parking lot and driving down my street. The car ride was silent and we were soon in front of my house.
I opened my door to get out, but he grabbed my arm, "Nikki... Thanks for listening today."
I nodded, "Same."
He smiled and let go of my arm. I got out of the car, shut the door and ran into the house. I watched him pull out of the driveway through the from window, where he couldn't see me. When I couldn't see him anymore, I walked to my room and threw my stuff on my bed. Then it hit me, My dad and that new guy were nowhere to be seen. The garage door was closed... so I didn't even know if the car was here....
I walked into the living room and sat down on the couch. I looked at the coffee table; the clean coffee table, and there was a note. It had my name on it...

Your dad is sleeping in his room. I went to the store to get something to make for dinner. I'll be home later. If your dad wakes up before I get back, let him now that didn't leave him.
