I think it's nice. It does a good job of showing how Akito feels. It really is unfair, the way he suffers. I think Shigure was cruel when he said those things to him.
Why not call the story "Half Empty", instead of "Cracked glass?" Just an idea. I thought it might be a neat way to tie the title into the story, since Akito actually uses that phrase at the end.
