    This is very strong and intense. It's a really original explanation of why they are Death Eaters. It's frightening in a way, and I also feel slightly sorry for Malfoy.

    "Outstrip" is one word.

    The last line could be a lot stronger, but overall, it's insightful. I would have expected Snape to respect the Malfoys for their patience. Part of the skill of laying a trap is walking away and expecting that it will spring in the fullness of time. Venom of the serpent.
