Patrick sat, tapping away at his laptop. Something was wrong, very wrong. Then he remembered, Pete wasn't around anymore. He had gone away to work and wouldn't be back for a month. He sighed; missing his boyfriend/best friend was too much to deal with. He had tried everything to keep himself preoccupied but nothing was working. He had to keep his mind of him, because, well he'd go insane if he didn't. That's when Patrick had an idea. He'd write a song, yeah, that would keep his mind of Pete…Or not.

He grabbed his guitar and piece of scrap paper and a pen he found in one of his draws.
After a moment or two of thinking, he began writing.

Dude, I totally miss you

I really fucking miss you

I'm all alone,

All the time, all the time

Dude, I totally miss you

The things we did together

Where have you gone?

Patrick looked at his lyrics in delight. Strumming his guitar gently, he began to put music to the lyrics.

Totally miss the honesty

And special times, and honestly

I totally miss the fucked up thing ya do

Dude, I totally miss you

I totally miss you

Dude, I totally miss you

All the time

After about a hour of non-stop writing, Patrick finally had a complete song. Patrick smiled to himself. 'I actually wrote a song!' he said to himself. He had to tell Pete- Oh yeah. He can't, or could he? Patrick had another great idea. He was on a role today, and he couldn't have been more impressed with himself. He'd ring Pete, tell him about his song.

Putting his guitar down, he grabbed the phone and dialled Pete's number. After about three rings, he heard someone at the other end.
"Hello?" came a voice

"Hey Pete, its Patrick."

"Oh hey babes. You okay?" Patrick smiled while picked at and twiddled the phone cord.

"Yeah Im good, how's work?" a snort came from the other line.

"Shit, you know why?"

"Why?" he asked slowly

"Cause your not here." Patrick mentally slapped himself. Pete could be so sappy sometimes, it was funny.

"That's really corny Pete"

"Yeah, but you know you love it." He snickered

"Whatever, look guess what" sighing once again.

"What?"

"I wrote a song!"

"Oh awesome Pat. How's it go?" he hesitated for a second.

"Y-you want me to sing it." All of the sudden Patrick felt nervous. It felt like a
million butterflies were having a party in his stomach.

"Well, yeah, do, silly."

"Okay, lemmy find my guitar then."

"Its by the door."

"What?" He asked, confused.

"Erm... you know I'l be home soon, right?"

"I know, I love you."

"I love you too. Okay then, you gonna sing for me Pattycakes?"

"Oh right yeah," he took a deep breath, "here goes…

Pete smirked, laughing lightly. Patrick turned red, did Pete really think it was that bad.
"Trick, that was amazing." Soft hands wrapped around Patrick waist, making him jump out of his skin. Slowly looking up, he smiled. Standing behind him was Pete, phone still pressed agent his ear.

"Pete, what the hell? How come you're here?" he asked, ecstatic his boyfriend was home, but at the same time slightly confused.

"I just felt so bad about leavng you here. So I came back. I was gonna come and surprise you but you phoned me just as I was about to open the door."

"Awww Pete that's so sweet."

"You know it." Pete sat down, pulling Patrick onto his lap and kissing him deeply on the lips. Once they pulled apart, Patrick smiled.

"Dude, I totally missed you."
