Huh, first fun crack at time turner/travel manufacture that didn't involve ground-up fairies.
Author's response
Did somebody seriously use that?!
Actually, maybe I should use that for something else. I am not above making jokes about other fanfic tropes...
EDIT, 8/12/11: I want you to know that I have been carefully saving your ground-up fairies until it was reasonable to work them in somehow. I took a while, but I did not forget. :)Let's Try That Again, Shall We?

Haha, what an utterly weird way to time travel. Completely random and has a high chance of being utilized by the bad guys. Hope Riddle doesn't catch it just seconds before his defeat.Author's response
Actually the idea was lifted from a non-fiction book on possible methods of time travel. Make a wormhole, accelerate one end at relativistic speeds (here, use magic on it) until it's out of sync with the other, then expand the wormhole (will take massive amounts of energy). It sounds random, but it was actually the most plausible method of time travel I knew of, so I just added magic and a lizard and called it a day.
The consciousness moving around was just the gimmick to make the story fit into the genre, though.
