  I love it - it was imaginative and well-written. Each small glimpse into the past was believable and vivid. Dealing with how the war impacted Zoe was very insightful. I love her perspectives on Wash and Mal and what they mean to her.

  First Firefly story I've read - ever. And I think I couldn't have picked a better one. Very direct not despite but because of its subtlety. Showing her history as a soldier always in stark contrast to "normal" domestic things like her love for Wash or her family and home - very powerful. I loved it!
