Chapter Sixteen: Wasting Time with You:
Russet locks spread across a white cotton pillow.
“Why didn’t you tell me you were here in Nagasaki?”
“I wanted to surprise you, but Thanatos ruined everything.”
White sheets wrapped around two warm bodies.
“But what are you doing here?”
“To be honest with you, I didn’t really plan this trip at all. It just sort of happened.”
He kissed her on the forehead.
“How was the bento?”
“Great!”
Her giggles floated in the dark.
“I’m so glad you liked it.”
“Hey, maybe I should make you a bento as well.”
“Maybe…”
“Come on, please!”
“We’ll see.”
He gives her a little pout. She smiles and kisses him.
“We’ll see.”
He pouts. “Okay.”
“Very good.”
He holds her by the waist. She has on light baby blue angel pajamas tonight. Ah, the drawbacks of colder weather. He likes summer better. More bare skin to touch that way. This would have to do for now.
Cuddling isn’t bad.
She makes a face at him.
“Shouldn’t you be working tonight?”
“Hm? Oh, it’s okay. Hisoka’s on it.”
“Really now?”
“Yeah, I’m all yours tonight.”
“I like that.”
He kisses her on the forehead.
“I knew you would.”
Her smile lights him up. He gently stroked her cheek. Her hand rested upon his chest.
“You sure you don’t want to do it tonight?” Her foot brushes up against his ankle. He shakes his head.
“Nah. I’m saving that after the case.”
“Ah, fair enough.”
“But we can just lie around her like this.”
“This is true.”
She kisses him on the throat. She can feel him tremble on her lips.
“Hey now, you keep working me up.”
“Do I?”
“Save it for after the case, okay?”
“Okay.”
He smiles and kisses her on the head.
“You’re too cute.”
“Mmm.”
Her eyes slowly begin to sink shut. He pouts.
“Aw, don’t tell me you’re going to sleep now.”
No answer. She has taken the bus to dream land. Peacefully asleep. Maybe she’ll see him there? He tries to shake her awake.
“Anna-chan? Anna-chan? Anna-chan?”
Her shoulder sake limply. No answer. She is already asleep. He lowers his hand. A little smile creeps across his face. He gives her a gentle kiss on the lips.
“Good night.”
He gently puts his other arm over her and shuts his eyes. He will she see her in his sexiest of dreams of her.
Her bare narrow feet gently touched his ankles under the sheets.
