Fine couple of chapters. I've often thought that ATRs would work well against dragons, trolls and giants. Maybe SAMs if the distance is greater or the target is airborn. Thanks for writing. W.

People pay x amount of taxes. Some program loses y funding. Instead of cutting y taxes from x, it is sent somewhere else.
Think of it this way, the US Department of Education has been given billions upon billions with no noticeable change in the average grades. US tax dollars went there.

Well, I'd say that after the Cold War, the people in the government decided to change their targets to the Middle East. This way, they would have a legitimate excuse to not downsize the military.
just like all other types of money the politicians stole it
also there was definite downsizing of the military in nato nations britan does not even have a single aircraft carrier any more and america is down to the lowest percent of military members since before WW1 only reason we are still a world power is our comparatively advanced tech which we rely on way to much
