Gerard woke up again, feeling shaky. Lindsey looked at him.
"Whats wrong hun?"
"I'm just out of it. I'll feel better tomorrow."
"Are you sure?"
"Yeah, I'm sure."
Gerard rolled over, and closed his eyes.
The next day, Gerard woke up and ambled downstairs.
"Hey."
"Hey, hun. Feeling any better?"
"Yeah, I guess."
"So, you still feel cruddy?"
"Yeah."
"What hurts?"
"I dunno." Gerard shrugged.
The truth was what didn't hurt.
He went to get some coffee. As he was pouring it, Bandit came in.
"Hi, B."
"Hi."
"Mommy? Where's Rodrick?"
"He's sleeping."
"Why?"
"Because everyone needs to sleep at some point."
And right on cue, Rodrick started crying.
Gerard rubbed his temples.
"Shit."
"What's wrong?"
"My head hurts, like bad...it feels like the room is moving too."
"I'll get the medicine, you go lie down. OK?"
Gerard nodded, and ambled to the couch.
"Mommy? Is Daddy OK?"
"I don't know right now, but I think he'll be OK."
