Tacky Alternate Ending

Blinding light penetrated through Gerard’s eyelids. A sharp pain rose from his stomach, making him double over. His eyes adjusted to the bright lights and he saw a figure standing in front of him. Mikey.
“How…?” Gerard started to ask.
“I was outside your door, contemplating whether I should make you stay with me or not. I waited outside your door for 30 minutes afterwards, and finally I decided to go in. You would have died, Gee”
“I’m sorry, I thought taking my life was the only way out,” Gerard responded.
“Gerard, we all care about you, Lindsay, Bandit, Frank, Ray, everyone!” He pointed to the far end of the hospital room where Gerard’s family was standing. Lindsay holding Bandit in her arms. Gerard beckoned to Lindsay to give Bandit to him. Lindsay let Bandit down on the floor. She ran towards her father. His daughter squeezed him and Gerard felt the Palpable love she radiated. He whispered into her ear,
“I don’t want to leave you ever again.”
“How…?” Gerard started to ask.
