Mikey's POV

When I was younger, I got scared sometimes at how my mother looked first thing in the morning and I remember Gerard laughing at me because I had screamed like a little girl. Looking at my mother now brought back that memory. I could clearly see dad had dressed as Frankenstein, and had done a good job – going to guess mum had done the hair and make-up. So I am taking a wild guess that mum was the bride of Frankenstein – her hair was really wild and her make-up was smeared and heavy like. Enough to give anyone a fright. I glanced at Gerard who seemed to be equally shocked as me. Bob and Ray nudged us chuckling
"What's the matter boys?" mum asked
"Nothing," I said shaking my head but still staring at my mum
"You look like you've seen a ghost," dad said turning to stare at me. Fuck, I hated ghosts – the idea of a room going very cold and the thought of someone touching you and then disappearing freaked me out
"I'm fine." Gerard walked into the living room, still staring at mum and dad to pick up the gifts he had got Frank for his birthday. I turned to look at Ray and Bob who were trying (but failing epically) at stifling their laughter. I glared at them for a second before smirking myself

"Right come on then, let's get going, and don't forget to lock up Don." Mum walked past and behind mum's back, dad bowed behind her back before pulling a face, making it a lot harder for Ray and Bob to stifle their laughter. I bite my lip and hit Gerard across the arm as he fell into a fit of silent laughter. Mum turned round at the last minute
"Going to be one of those nights, now come on, I'm sure Gerard doesn't want to be late!" Gerard straightened up and unable to contain his laughter anymore, Bob burst out laughing closely followed by Ray. My dad kept a straight face but in the corners of his mouth they began to curl upwards. Gerard laughed before bounding over to the front door and stood next to mum. After what seemed like forever of Bob and Ray laughing, they finally pulled themselves together and walked over to the front door, followed by me and dad. Dad did as he was told and locked up and we set out down the street. It was nearly dark now, and small groups were already wondering around, dressed in costumes, and knocking on doors. It was the youngest of children, with their parents. Give it a few hours and the teenagers will be out, and instead of being sweet and kind like the five year olds, they'll be terrorizing people for sweets. Rather sad really, but that's what it's like every year. Gerard was first up Frank's garden path and knocking on the door. The front door was opened as we finally reached it. Frank's mum stood in the door way and she smiled brightly at all of us
"Come on in!" She stepped to one side and closed the door behind my dad. We kicked our shoes off

"Frank! Your friends are here!" Ray and Bob had never met Frank's mum and they smiled and introduced themselves – with Ray being the kind mannered and Bob being calm and cool. In an instant, mum and dad followed Frank's mum into the kitchen area as we heard the hurried footsteps from upstairs and down the stairs.

Gerard's POV

I instantly burst into laughter seeing Frankie's costume, but he in returned laughed at the lot of us. Frank's mum had clearly dressed as a witch, with a long cloak, black pointed witch's hat and a dark red dress. Frankie was dressed as a pirate and he looked very cute too. I pulled him into a tight hug and before he had the chance to hug the others the door went again. It was either going to be trick or treaters or Holly. Frankie moved the bowl closer to the door as he opened, but instantly smiled as Holly dived on him and pulled him into a tight hug. She had come as the female version of the devil – which in a strange way doesn't surprise me in the slightest. The dress was red and hugged across her chest and stomach before becoming very floaty. It reached her knees and she was clearly wearing skin coloured tights. The sleeves were long and like the rest of the dress, hugged her arms but then flared out as they reached her wrists. She wore flat shoes and had tied her hair back and found some devil horns to wear. She had done her make-up. Her mum and dad followed suit behind her, both dressed for the occasion too. Mikey had met her parents and said they were nice. They appeared nice
"Bloody trick or treaters," her mum mumbled. Holly rolled her eyes
"Oh get over it mum, you'll be here for the evening and won't be having to answer the door will you!" Her mum smiled at Frankie and he smiled back
"Happy birthday," she said cheerfully
"You can now have your first legal drink," Amy's dad said smiling at him and Frankie laughed. They walked past and into the kitchen knowing where the other parents were
"Most cutest group of children ran past, laughing happily all dressed up and my mother has to be the mood killer by saying they'll be doing this in a few years' time but will be scaring people shitless and taking their money as well as candy." Frankie laughed along with the rest of us
"Such a mood killer, but she's cheered up now that we're here, just the walk that put her in a foul mood."
"Was your dad wearing a Hawaiian shirt?" Frankie randomly asked. Holly face-paled herself
"Yes, he threatened to wear it but I didn't believe him, how wrong I was, and before you ask, he is trying to pull off the zombie look or something stupid, while mum is trying to be some sort of vampire thing, looks nothing like a vampire but still."

"Meh, you haven't seen our mum and dad yet," Mikey said smiling at her. Holly giggled
"Nor have I," Frankie said while Ray and Bob began to laugh again. Holly stared at Ray
"Wow, the 'fro is just more awesome when you're a werewolf!" Ray smirked while Bob, Mikey and myself laughed. I took hold of Frankie's hand and he smiled even more. We walked through to the kitchen. Frank's mum had done a good job of decorating the house with Halloween decorations and a banner that read 'Happy 18th Birthday Frank!' all of the adults stopped chatting, turned round and smiled
"Here he is, the birthday boy!" my mum sang – I most certainly did not get my singing voice from my mum! Frankie began to blush a little, which was really cute
"Let's go into the living room and open presents, I ordered pizza, Chinese you name it, it's been ordered!" Frank's mum said while ushering us all into the living room. We found somewhere to sit with me sitting very close to Frankie while Mikey sat the other side of him. Frankie had a smile across his face, which made me smile on the inside and on the outside
"Right, cards-"
"I know, cards first," Frankie said rolling his eyes as his mum wondered over and dumped a load of cards on his lap. He took five minutes to go through the cards, all being family member's and from a few, some money had dropped out

"Now, who's present do I open first?" Frankie said looking round at the presents that were on display
"Open your friend's presents first." Holly dived from her spot and shuffled closer, sitting on the floor. She ignored the remark from her mum and dad. He took Mikey's present first. As soon as the wrapping paper was off, Holly had hold of it and was sat playing with it
"Awesome! I've been waiting to get these CDs for ages! Smashing Pumpkins, Black Flag, The Misfits." He stared at the CDs, the smile still on his face as his eyes darted back and forth reading the song names on the back
"Oh and this," Mikey said handing him another gift, which was a book – no paper just a ribbon
"Jesus Mikey, you're a legend, a book of song notes and chords to some amazing music." Frankie flipped through and paused on a few of the pages before closing it and hugging Mikey – Holly had taken the ribbon and tied it in her hair. She giggled childishly. Ray and Bob had brought cards for Frankie and Ray had given Frankie some new straps for Pansy, while Bob had brought this black belt, with silver studs and a skull buckle
"So cool, know what I'm wearing on Monday, or in fact tomorrow!" Frankie said beaming and holding it round his waist, while Bob laughed. He picked up Holly's present next. It was rather soft. Frankie ripped the paper off and tossed it at Holly
"Whoa, the smashing pumpkins hoodie I had seen last weekend – Holly I love you for getting this!" Holly giggled
"Knew you'd like it, I know what to get my friends for their birthday." Small individually wrapped packages fell out of the hoodie as he held it up even more. He tore the wrapping paper off and laughed
"And I know how much you love your 'guy-liner' and thought you could do with some more and got you a red one too." He managed to pull Holly into a hug without falling off the sofa. He picked up the presents I had got him. I always got nervous when someone opened my presents as you never know whether they're going to like it or not. He picked up the lip-rings first and unwrapped it
"Colourful," Frankie said looking at me. I smiled at him, still feeling nervous as he then picked up the guitar picks
"I've been needing new guitar picks, down to my last one as I either loose them or break them, thanks Gee." He placed them down and grabbed the sketch book. Although many people say they love my sketches and drawings, I still got nervous and doubted myself at times with my drawings. He tore the paper off and then examined the cover. My parents stared at the gift. I hadn't shown them what I had put together fom Frankie. He opened the cover and fell silent and flipped through the pages, running his fingers over the drawings. Holly moved closer, Mikey peered down at the sketch book and Ray and Bob moved closer to look as well
"What is it Frank?" his mum asked
"Only the most fantastic and beautiful drawings I have ever seen in my life!" he said looking up smiling again. I glanced quickly at mum and dad and both were smiling. In the past I had drawn pictures of my mum and dad as gifts and even done some drawings of Mikey for him
"I know I've said it a thousand times before in the past Gee but you really are a talented person, you really do have a career in art when you're older and music! There's nothing you can't do!"

"Aww thank you Frankie, so you like it then," I said smiling. This boy knew exactly how to make me smile
"Of course I do, more than like it, I love it!" and I was pulled into a very tight hug and hugged him back. I felt my cheeks go a little red but I didn't care
"I love you Gee," Frankie whispered, quiet enough so that our parents did hear. I smiled back
"I love you too."
"Right and now for the gift from me, it's not much, but I hope you like it." Frankie's mum had got up and walked over with an envelope and handed it to Frankie. Frankie opened it slowly and then went into a completely stunned silence as his eyes grew wide.

Frank's POV

Holy-mother-of-fuck! I mentally slapped myself god knows how many times. After seeing the beautiful sketch book from Gee, what I held in my hand was equally amazing. I wasn't sure whether I was dreaming or whether it was a joke, but fucking hell in my hand I was holding concert tickets to see the Misfits. It wasn't just one ticket it was one, two, three, four, five, six tickets to see them!
"Oh my god!" I finally managed to find my voice to speak with the smile on my face growing even more, which I didn't think was possible
"Whoa, dude!" Ray exclaimed excitedly staring at the tickets. I glanced at Gee who was now beaming brightly
"I spoke with Donna and Thea about you going to the concert with Gerard, Mikey and Holly and she was happy for that to happen so we pitched in together and brought the tickets."
"Mother, I love you for buying me a ticket!" Holly said excitedly. She had a ridiculous smile on her face. I looked at Mikey and he was smiling even more
"When Donna told me, I spoke to Ray and Bob's parents and they brought tickets for Ray and Bob to go too, so the six of you can go together as a group," Donald said. Ray and Bob stood stunned and smiling like a couple of idiots. I leapt off the sofa and hugged my mum tightly
"Thank you!" I stopped myself from screaming it out, but my voice broke a little through excitement. My mum hugged me back tightly while laughing
"Happy 18th darling." I ran back over to Gee and sat down clutching the tickets
"I'll put them somewhere safe until the concert, which isn't until February." Mum walked over and took the tickets and went and tucked them away somewhere safe
"Thank you everyone for the cards and gifts," I said still smiling

Narrator's POV

Ten minutes after opening the cards and presents, the orders that Frank's mum had ordered turned up along with a few trick or treaters. The parents sat amongst the six teens while they had social conversations, the jokes were swapped and the odd debate about musicians were exchanged. Holly repeatedly told her dad to be quiet whenever he mentioned something to do with cartography (if anyone doesn't know what cartography is, it is the art of making maps) and explained how no one wants to hear about how you get the scaling correct or what symbol means what. The door was knocked several times with the chant of 'trick or treat' echoing through into the living room before the door was then closed. A cold breeze came through and filled the room too each time but soon faded. The parents after a while had migrated to the kitchen to leave the six teens in the living room, with access to the TV and film collection. Games were started up, the old classics of twister, charades and spin the bottle. Spin the bottle became far more interesting when the idea of truth or dare was suggested. Laughter filled the living room at the outrageous dares set and the intense truths that were asked and answered honestly. As the minutes ticked by, edging closer to midnight, Gerard had made himself even closer to Frank and taken liberty or stealing Frank's hat for a while. Frank had laced his fingers with Gerard's and every now and then, while a truth or a dare was being thought of by either Holly or Bob, he would whisper sweet things into Frank's ear, making him blush and smile, turning his head, to try and kiss his lips but was distracted by Mikey either coughing or having something thrown at him. After a while, Holly's parents appeared ready to drag her away from the group. She hugged everyone goodbye, while getting a quick feel of Ray's afro before running giggling away to Mikey, hugging him and giving him a very kick and discrete kiss, before running to her parents. Donna and Donald soon appeared to drag Mikey, Ray and Bob away. Ray and Bob were to stay the night at the Way house hold until morning, when Ray's mum would come to pick the two of them up. They said goodbye to Frank and Gerard. Frank's mum was too tired to start cleaning up the aftermath. Bottles and cups covered the tables while bowls some half filled with food and others completely empty were scattered across the room. The decorations still coloured the living room. She kissed Frank goodnight before giving Gerard a small hug and retreating up the stairs
