It’s the little things that you miss the most. The delicate birdsong in the mornings, the echoes of traffic bustling through the city, even just the glimmer of hope and security in your loved one’s eyes. Unfortunately, all of these aspects of everyday life were now marooned on an island labelled ‘Misery’.
Billie was trundling along behind me, scuffing his shoes on the pavement and humming along to a familiar tune. His angelic face had a fixed ‘innocent yet guilty’ expression while being covered with his floppy, peroxide coloured hair. The jade orbs that graced his appearance swim with honey specs and his frame was covered in casual punk attire.
“Leave me alone! I haven’t got the time for your impudent attitude!” a loud voice blurted out. It was filled with aggravation, yet hinted with terror and despair. I wasn’t quite sure, but I slightly recognised the panicked voice. I grasped Billie’s hand and edged closer to the arguing.
