The Sleeper

It's a mad world out there in the light
I want no part in it
Time to say goodnight
Wake me up in a year or two
Pull the sheets back when the world is new
Stop my dreams when it's worth the wake
Open my eyes when there's no more ache
Untill then let me sleep
Don't make a move, and talk is cheap
Cover me up
Kiss me goodnight
Tuck me in
Turn off the lights
I want to say goodbye, not permanetly
I want to be alone, not eternally
So I'll just close my eyes and drift away
To a dream of you and a perfect day
Wake me up in a decade or so
When the world is warm and the sun is still low
Open your arms and tell me good news
Untill then, let me rest
For a century or two
