A good glimpse into the characters from an original perspective. I liked the way Naruto thinks as seen via the shogi board, and I liked the fact Sakura keeps getting called away on emergencies; she's seen as extraneous or a nuisance in so many fics, it's nice to see her in her element, as well as get a glimpse of the violence implied, which comes par for the course in a Hidden Village. And of course, the section on Sasuke was grim, moving and insightful. -

That was a nice shot! When I read the summary I wasn't expecting the story to be this deep and has many sides, like a shogi game. Maybe because this is my first reading your story. I like how you portrayed each character through the shogi board. The Anko & Kakashi part was funny. And I am touched by the Sasuke part. In the end, no one wins.
But with Temari, Shikamaru always ended up with win x win conclusion! -

Brilliant, absolutely brilliant.
My analytical mind is imploring me to congratulate you on your impeccable spelling, etc., and the rest is saying 'Huh. That was a damn good story.' Which it absolutely was- great work!
