Jiraiya couldn't let Orochimaru leave back in that forest. But in retrospect, maybe ending up hating his best friend would have been better than the guilt of having broken him.
(#) Last_Deadly_Sin 2006-09-28 08:14:26 PMI really liked it! It was well written and an interesting twist I never would have seen! It kind of reminded me of the Xmen...... Charles and Magneto, you know? But I think it was very interesting and sad! -_- Poor Orochimaru... I felt bad for em!
Author's responseI'm very glad you liked it. ^^
And lol, you're totally right about it reminding Charles and Eric. (Though I kinda suck for not seeing it before you told me.)
(#) celerystalksatnoon 2006-11-26 11:30:02 PMI think there is something very beautiful and very sad in the way only Jiraiya is really holding together. Although, i suppose that is true for both this story and the original.
Author's responseI don't really know about how well Jiraiya is holding up in this fic. He's probably the one Sannin who holds up the best/, but he's just as broken as the other two. Just as Orochimaru says, he's being selfish to the point of cruelty; he's so terrified of being the one left behind alone, that he keeps his best friend locked away so that he /can't leave.
