I miss the way I long for your smile,
To see your face for a little while.
I miss the way your laughter rings,
Across the room, from sundry things.
I miss the anticipation of your hello,
Your cheery wave, as you turn to go.
I miss the thoughts flowing through my head,
Of gift ideas, date places, and words unsaid.
I miss the idea of being in love,
And trying to win your heart and love.
But at the very least, I know it's true,
...I don't have to miss being with you.
