Family Legacy\\n\\nby Mada\\n\\nA/N: This fanfic idea has been floating around in my head for a couple years, and only now have I finally started to write it out. If you all like it, then review and I\\\'ll continue.\\n\\n\\n\\n**************************************\\n\\nPrologue*\\n\\nThe halls were brightly lit and the paintings that lined the walls all smiled down at the little girl. She trotted towards two large, oak doors and stopped. Looking up to a portrait of an old wizard with an extremely long beard, she silently asked if she could go in. The old wizard nodded, but put a finger over his mouth, telling her to be quiet.\\n\\nShe reached up and grasped the large handle with tiny fists and pulled it down. With great effort, she pulled the heavy door open and slipped inside. She stood in the dark entrance to a large sitting room. She could see her father and mother sitting on a couch, facing her. In front of them, she could see a man with dark hair sitting in her favorite chair.\\n\\nHer father noticed her presence and softly commanded her to move. \\\"Come meet our guest, Lilith,\\\" he said, waving her over.\\n\\nShe slowly went toward her father, getting closer to the chair. As she passed she saw the man in the chair was young and quite handsome. He gave her a smile and watched her go over to her parents. She walked into her fathers waiting arms and he lifted her onto his lap. \\\"This is our daughter, Lilith. Lilith, this is our guest, Mr. Riddle.\\\"\\n\\nThe young man smiled at her again and she smiled back. \\\"You have a beautiful daughter, Mr. Roberts. She looks just like you,\\\" the man said.\\n\\nHer father chuckled, \\\"I cannot take credit for that. Her looks are a family trait, all Primoris Lamia have them.\\\"\\n\\nIt was true, the young man looked from her father, with his thick, black hair and dark green eyes, to her mother. The woman was short, with auburn curls and light-blue eyes. The girl looked nothing like her mother.\\n\\nHer mother stood, asking, \\\"Would you like a cup of tea? Something to eat?\\\"\\n\\n\\\"Tea would be fine,\\\" the young man said, with a charming smile. Her mother blushed and went into the kitchen. Her father stood, \\\"I\\\'ll go get the ring. I don\\\'t wear it as often around the house.\\\"\\n\\nHe went through the doors and left her alone with the man. She sat looking at him, as he did the same to her.\\n\\n\\\"So, Lilith,\\\" he said. \\\"What do you want to do when you grown up?\\\" He leaned back in his chair, slightly, taking her in.\\n\\nShe went over to the window that overlooked the large field in front of their home, \\\"I want to go to Hogwarts, after that, I don\\\'t know.\\\"\\n\\n\\\"Wouldn\\\'t you like to be married and have a home full of children like most little girls?\\\"\\n\\nShe almost snorted, \\\"None of the other children in town like to play with me. Their afraid of my outbursts. Boys are to frightened by me, so I won\\\'t ever be married.\\\"\\n\\nHe sat for a moment watching her. \\\"Come here,\\\" he softly commanded. She hesitated for a moment, then went to stand in front of him. \\\"If you want,\\\" he said, holding her chin. \\\"When you are older, I will marry you.\\\"\\n\\nShe thought about it and then nodded, smiling brightly. Her father came back in, holding a small box in his hand. \\\"Here it its,\\\" he said, sitting down once more.\\n\\nOpening the box, he pulled out a ring. It was set with a ruby that had a large, gold \\\'G\\\' in the middle, and on the band were two identical lions. He handed it to the man, letting him look it over.\\n\\n\\\"Godric Gryffindor made that himself,\\\" her father said, proudly. \\\"There are only two of them in the world. This one was worn by his wife, Morgana, and was passed down the line or Primoris Lamia. The other was worn by Godric himself and it belongs to a distant cousin of mine.\\\"\\n\\n\\\"I thought you lived quite close to one another,\\\" the man said, never taking his eyes off the ring.\\n\\n\\\"Yes,\\\" her father replied, picking Lilith up again. \\\"We grew up together, but in relation to how closely related we are, we are extremely distant.\\\"\\n\\nThe young man nodded, \\\"I suppose I will be unable to convince you to part with this then?\\\" He handed it back, somewhat reluctantly.\\n\\nHer father took it back, \\\"No, I cannot sell it. It is a family heirloom and I promised Lilith that she could have it someday.\\\"\\n\\nShe reached for it and her father smiled, letting her take it. Smiling to herself, she put it on her right hand just like her father always did. She showed the young man and he smiled, \\\"Beautiful.\\\"\\n
