Desperation was a novel experience, something new amidst the grey area of flat normalcy. There was something in the air...an edge that had Axel antsy and irritable. It was in the way Roxas was gone every morning, hardly tossed a glance Axel's way as they passed during the day. It was in the possessive inclination that had Axel snarling and snapping at anyone unfortunate enough to look at Roxas sideways.
Something was slipping through his fingers, and Axel was frantically convinced that he only had to experience it a little longer and it would gain a name, make sense...
Fill something that had been far too empty.
Roxas didn't look at him anymore when they fucked, eyes distant, focusing on something Axel could never touch. It burned, seeing those eyes looking over and through him like he wasn't there. Axel almost had a name for it, the agonizing discomfort Roxas inspired.
