What do you want?
He always heard that question as the fire burned into his eyes, his entire body, and changed it. And "what do you want" was a simple way of asking what he lived for, why he wanted to survive.
I'm scared.
He'd answered with that last time, and ended up on a deserted wreck of a planet, with a shaved head as if he'd been in a human war. It had almost been funny, until he remembered.
So he waited for the voice, and it came.
What do you want?
He answered with complete, utter sincerity.
