Like drops of water becoming the sea
Lines forms letter that stretch into words
Words! Essence of humanity.
Foundations of the House of Meaning.

Verbal atom bombs can blow up
Your soul. "I love you" "I'm leaving"
"She's pregnant" "He's dead" Words!
Knives of sound they carve daily life

If words can be like bullets then
Silence is sometimes poison gas
Smothering us with choking fumes
It can blot the truth from our minds

Words like cookies in a plain box
"Eat your eggs." means You know I care.
"Good bye." is like I will miss you.
These words are lotion to dry hearts
