- An interesting premise, esp. since he seems to have done the converse of that verse from Matthew, he lost the whole world but gained his soul in the process of coming to terms with his death. It's not a heroic death as stories record them, but it's a heroic one in that he faced it fully, and fully aware of himself, and didn't try to avoid it, though I imagine he didn't go easily, either.
A quite thought-provoking little piece.
