No More Power

i would have done anything for you
given you anything
and by rejecting it
you lost it
i gave you, everything i had, everything i was.
you pretended, but you never returned it
i thought i knew you
you proved me wrong
you lied to me
you betrayed me
you hurt me...
now i'm free.
the pain has dimmed, i cried it all away, leaving only a dull, neverending pain.
the rage is gone, suppressed for a time when it is time to release it.
the trust is gone.
you had me, in the palm of your hand.
you hold no more power over me...
