We arrived at Mikey and Gerard’s house not long after we left the hospital.
The doctors had given us endless instructions to ‘keep that from getting infected’ or ‘make that heal faster’.
I tell ya, I sure hope Donna was listening, cause I sure wasn’t.
I had rang Matt already, and Gerard and I were on our way to my place…
“I sure hope as fuck they don’t notice me here.” I said, jumping the verandah silently.
“Bad luck if they do though.” Gerard whispered, helping me into my room.
As soon as I stepped into my room, my brother got up and hugged me.
“Oh my god, are you okay? You scared the shit out of me.” Matt said quietly, still holding me tight.
“Yeah, I’m fine… Is everything okay here?” I asked, prying myself away from Matt.
“Yeah, just like normal… A few arguments, then it’s all good.” Matt shrugged.
I grabbed a small bag out of my cupboard and began tossing clothes in it.
“Oh Matt. There’s something we need to tell you, but you gotta promise not to tell anyone.” I said, tossing a hoodie in my bag.
“Yeah?” Matt said.
I sighed and sat down on my bed next to Gerard.
“Gerard and I are together now.” I said quietly, taking Gerard’s hand and looking back at my door, making sure no on was coming.
“Serious? Like, boyfriend and girlfriend?” Matt asked.
“Ah, don’t look so shocked.” I said sarcastically, shoving Matt’s shoulder lightly.
“I’m not shocked, it’s what I wanted. You two are great together, it was only a matter of time.” Matt smiled.
“That’s what everyone’s been saying.” I laughed, getting up again and throwing in a few more things.
“You just make sure you don’t hurt her. Or you’ll have me to deal with.” Matt threatened Gerard.
“Trust me Matthew, I wouldn’t dream of hurting her.” Gerard assured quietly.
I smiled at Gerard and he smiled back.
“You two are so cute it’s kinda disgusting.” Matt said, scrunching up his face.
“Shut up freak.” I said, plonking down on my bed again.
“Oh yeah, and you can talk.” Matt said sarcastically.
“Hey, I know I’m a freak. A loud and proud freak I am.” I said as I stretched my legs.
“You’re loud alright.” Gerard muttered.
“Excuse me?!” I snapped.
“Exactly how far have you two gone?” Matt asked, his eyebrow raised.
I pouted my lips together I deep thought.
“How do we put this?… In a way that won’t sound wrong and give him creepy thoughts?” I said slowly.
“We’ve had sex.” Gerard admitted.
“I see.” Matt said slowly, nodding his head.
“You could’ve said it nicely Gerard.” I hissed.
“If you use the bigger words, it makes it worse!” Gerard defended.
“How?!” I hissed.
“Your sister and I have basked in sexual intercourse.” Gerard said seriously, leaning his head towards my brother.
“Oh god!” Matt squeaked quietly.
“See, told you it makes it worse.” Gerard said, folding his arms over his chest.
“Hey Matt, do you know if Mum and Dad are or were planning to come visit me?” I asked suddenly.
Gerard shot me a look that I chose to ignore.
“I’m not sure… Why?” Matt answered, after he had calmed down.
“Ah, I was just asking.” I said quickly, turning away just as fast.
“We better go now.” I said, picking up my bag.
Through the corner of my eye I saw Matt give me a ‘don’t go’ look.
“I’m sorry Matt.” I whispered, and kissed him on the head lightly.
“But I’ll see you at school tomorrow, and I’ll be home soon after a couple of days, and if anything happens, or if you want to talk, you call me. Promise?” I said.
“I promise… But why are you going to school?” Matt asked, worriedly.
“I just am.” I said quickly.
I hugged Matt quickly and climbed out the window.
I turned and jumped off the verandah, refusing to look back.
“I told Matt if he needs a place to go, there’s always our house.” Gerard said quietly, wrapping an arm around my shoulder.
“Thank you.” I said quietly.
“For what?” Gerard asked.
“For everything. For being there for me, for being you.” I whispered.
I could feel tears starting to sting my eyes.
Gerard stopped me and hugged me tightly to him.
“What if they see us?” I mumbled into Gerard’s shirt.
“They won’t.” Gerard said, letting go of me and walking forward.
Gerard grabbed hold of my hand and laced his fingers with mine.
I looked over and smiled.
“Wanna go to the lake before we go back home?” Gerard suggested.
“Yep! Let’s go!” I said happily, speeding up my pace.
“Gerard, should we be doing this here?” I giggled.
“Probably not, but that’s what makes it more exciting.” Gerard whispered in my ear.
I turned around to face Gerard and pecked him on the lips.
“Should we be doing this considering what I’ve been through these last couple of days?” I asked cheekily.
“I don’t see why not. The doctor didn’t say you couldn’t do any physical activities.” Gerard shrugged.
“I mean, the other stuff.” I said, wrapping my arms around Gerard’s neck.
Gerard continued kissing my neck.
“If you don’t want to, then we won’t.” Gerard said, stopping.
“No, it’s just… I dunno… I feel kinda guilty for some reason…” I said shyly.
“Guilty? Why?” Gerard asked.
I shrugged my shoulders.
“I just went through another one of my ‘family violence’ episodes, and I’m sitting here, about to maybe have sex.” I said quietly, looking away.
Gerard couldn’t help but giggle.
“You’re a strange one… But you shouldn’t feel guilty.” Gerard said, pushing his weight on me so I fell back.
Gerard hovered over me, kissing me passionately.
“Okay, okay.” I said, pulling away.
“I get it. You’re frisky. But we’re not doing it here.” I said.
“To my house then!” Gerard said loudly, jumping off of me before helping me up.
I laughed as Gerard ran away quickly, jumping up and down like a pre pubescent girl.
