As I was walking down the street in the boring suburbs of Chicago, I noticed this boy who was somewhat attractive. He had reddish-blonde hair and he was reading this book. I am pretty sure it was Catcher in The Rye. I noticed him look up at me. I am nothing special. Just a little black haired emo girl with a yellow 'The Smiths' t-shirt, old black Converse high tops with holes in them, black and blue striped socks, and a black and orange pair of houndstooth shorts. Nothing special. I realized he was that Ptrick kid that moved in next door about 2 or 3 days ago. I never really talked to him. I walked into my house and entered my bedroom. Looking out of my window, I saw that Patrick wasn't there anymore. Literally 30 seconds mater there was someone knocking at my bedroom door. "Come in!" I yelled, figuring it was my cousin/bestie Lara. To my surprise, Patrick walked into my room. "Hey. I'm Patrick Stump. I moved in next door." he said nervously. I put my Rolling Stone magazine on my nightstand and fixed my position on the edge of my bed. "Hi. I'm Stella." I said happily. He was so pretty. What made him come here? We talked for awhile about music, books, Rushmore, The Nightmare Before Christmas, etc. I found out he would be going to my school once the summer was over in 2months. "So, uh, yeah what drove me over here was actually your shirt and your beauty." he said. "Awwl! Thank you, buddy!" I said hugging him like I had known him for more than three hours. "I am kind of bored now. We have basically talked about everything." he said he looked down at his feet then noticed the scars from when I used to cut myself on my arm. "Except for that! Stella, honey, what the hell did you do?" he almost jumped out of his skin. He was really surprised. "My parents, they got divorced when I was twelve. I decided to live with my dad afterwards. He started to get annoyed with court, child support, work, me, etc. He started to take his anger out me by beating me. I told my cousin Lara, the one that let you in, about it and she told her older sister, Kallie, the one in the kitchen, about it and she went to court and took me away. Later that night she came to get me, he commited suicide. And my mom. She was on drugs and she met someone on the internet and moved to Argentina. After all of that shit, my aunt Janelle gave me this letter my father had written for me before he died. It said:

To Elizabeth Stella Renae Collins,
I never meant to hit you, but I never loved you either. I knew I had to take care of you because of all that shit with your mom and I, I couldn't leave out on the street. I did not want anything to do with you because you were legally not my responsibility. I am not your real father. I will never love you. I hate you for being you. You will never be within a phone call away. I am killing myself.

GOODBYE.
Your "father"
Lionel James Collins

After I read that, I started to feel everything again. The way he pushed me into walls, shelves, threw glass at me, anything he could do to cause me pain. I began to cut myself when I was fourteen. I told my friend, Falon, about it. She told Kallie and they got me help. I haven't done it for almost exactly a year." My eyes were swollen from all the crying. Patrick hugged me. He held me for literally 10 minutes. He comforted me by saying "It's okay. It's over. I'm here now."
