He took a deep breath and swallowed hard. Looking up once at the stars, steeling himself, he took her hand. A light breeze rustled through the trees and played with his hair. Trying to still the trembling of his hands - and hoping the tremor had not traveled to his voice - he reached into his pocket to retrieve a delicate silver ring. He felt nervous, more so than he ever had. Carefully rehearsed words suddenly fled his mind. Blinking to regain his thoughts, becoming alert once more, he held the silver ring to the soft light.
"Anaire, will you marry me?"
