Chapter 13- Miracles happen, but then they soon come crashing down
~Patrick~
I got to the hospital as fast as I could, paint still covering my body. I ran up to the front desk and asked them where Natasha's room was. They told me that I couldn't see her right now. So I went to the waiting room and waited. And waited. And waited some more.
“Ugh, what's taking them so long?”
Pete shrugged. “I have no idea. Just be patient, okay?”
I sighed. “It's hard to, but I'm gonna have to anyway.”
Pete took my free hand that wasn't holding Madison, and squeezed it. “I'll be here with you, so just try to relax.”
“I don't know how I could be. I just don't understand why all the bad things happen to me.”
Pete rubbed the back of my hand with his thumb in small circles. “I don't think your life is that bad. I mean, you have Madison and you're famous. Plus, you have me. Whether that's a good thing or not, I don't know. Is it?”
I smiled. “Yeah, it's definitely a good thing.”
About an hour or so later, we were finally able to see Natasha.
We entered the room, and right away, we saw her bruised and bandaged up. She looked awful.
I went to her side and I kissed the visible skin on her cheek. Just looking at her made my heart tear into pieces. She may have abandoned Madison, but she's still the mother of my child.
The doctor came in and talked to me and Pete.
“I'm afraid that there is a small chance of her waking up again. Very small. So we have two options. We either keep her on the machine for a while, or we pull the plug and let her go.”
I thought of a decision that almost killed me to make. “I'm not pulling the plug. Yet. I just want to wait 24 hours. That's it. Then I'll pull the plug.”
“Very well. At 1:00 tomorrow, we are letting her go. Is that understood?”
I nodded.
The doctor left and I went back to Natasha. I stroked her hair and Pete said, “I'm gonna go and finish the painting in the room. I think you need some alone time.”
I got up and kissed Pete. “Thanks.”
Pete squeezed my butt. “No problem.”
He left and closed the door behind him. I went back to Natasha' side.
I thought about all the good times we had before I got her pregnant. Like when I took her out for ice cream once, and I asked her if I could taste her ice cream. She stuck her face in it and told me to kiss her. I did and the taste of mint chocolate and her lips filled my mouth. That was my first kiss.
I've known her since Junior High. I remembered the day I first met her. I thought she was so beautiful. And I remember that she came up to me and said “You're cute.” And I of course, blushed until I was the color of a tomato.
Ever since then, we've been good friends. We never dated, but sometimes I regret it.
I shook that thought from my mind, remembering Pete is at home right now doing all the work that he didn't want to do in the first place. I really do love him, I just wonder how I ended up dating my best guy friend.
I never thought I was gay, but I really don't think I am. Pete's the only guy I've ever been attracted to. My whole life has been centered around girls, and then Pete came into the picture. I didn't think of him in a sexual way until that one night in the motel. Now I just can't get enough of him. I love the way his dick feels in my mouth and I love it when does the same for me.
But then again, I loved that one time with Natasha. I loved the feel of her body against mine. And she is just so damn beautiful. I get butterflies in my stomach every time I'm around her. Even now, she still looks beautiful.
I decided to speak to her just in case she can hear me. “Hey Natasha. I just want you to wake up for me, okay?”
No response, like I expected. “It's hard to see you like this. To see your beautiful face all smashed and your body broken. What were you thinking while you were driving, huh?”
I chuckled. “You don't have anything to say for yourself?” I paused for a minute. “I guess not. Because you have no excuse, so ha!”
I crossed my legs. “So, what are you thinking about?”
No answer.
“I've been thinking about you. I thought about our first kiss, and I thought about what happened when we got drunk that night.”
I took a deep breath. “I really enjoyed it, just so you know. I've always loved you, and I finally got my chance to have a sexual connection with you.”
“Too bad I'm with Pete, huh? Oh, wait, you don't know that yet, do you? You probably can't here me, but I wanted to tell you that me and Pete are dating. And we are raising Madison like Pete's her father too. She calls us Dada now. Isn't that sweet?”
I went on for hour and hours, telling her about my life and what has happened.
I told her every single detail and even told her about some intimate times between me and Pete. I said a lot of random stuff as well. I talked about my extreme dislike of barbecue sauce and I talked to her about all my favorite music at the moment. I even sang.
I never left the hospital that night. I stayed up all night and talked to her. I didn't want to sleep. I wanted my face to be the first thing she saw if she wakes up. And I mean if she wakes up.
I was five minutes til one when the doctor came into the room.
“It's one o' clock Patrick. It's time.”
I looked at my watch. “No, there's still five minutes left.”
He sighed. “Okay, five minutes.”
He left the room and I started to talk to her again.
“Natasha, please, wake up. Please, I don't know what I'll do without you. I love you so much.” Tears fell down my face and I was sobbing.
I looked at my watch again. One minute til one.
Just then, I heard a rustling noise. I looked over at Natasha and she slowly opened her eyes. I nearly fainted, but I held myself together.
“Patrick? Where am I?”
I went to her side and grabbed her hand gently. “Sweetie, we're at the hospital. You got into a car wreck and you were in a coma. They said that you weren't gonna make it. I asked for 24 hours. And you woke up.” Tears fell down my face once again.
“I don't know what I'd do without you.”
She smiled. “I'm sure you'd manage.”
The doctor came in and I swear he shit his pants. “She's awake!”
I grinned. “I told you that she would wake up.”
I called Pete while the doctor was talking to Natasha. “Hey Pete, guess what?”
“What?”
“She woke up.”
“She woke up?”
I smiled even though he couldn't see it. “Yeah, she did.”
I heard Pete drop his paint brush. “I'll be there in twenty minutes.”
I went back into the room when Pete arrived and he went over and gave Natasha a hug. “I'm so glad that you're okay.”
She smiled at Pete. “Me too.”
She looked kinda worried about something. “Hey, what's wrong? Did the doctors say something to you?”
Natasha didn't reply for a second then took a deep breath. “Well, they said that since I live alone, that I needed to find someone to live with. Because I can't take care of myself alone.”
I nodded and she continued on. “So, I was wondering, can I stay with you guys for a while until I can take care of myself?”
Oh, no. This might cause a problem.
