We all stayed silent, I let the tears fall from my eyes, fear running through every part of my body. I looked down at Alicia, legs wide open, face bright red and eyes clenched tight. All of a sudden we heard a loud cry, it was piercing and shocking. I couldn’t help but jump for joy. My baby was alive. ‘My baby!’ Alicia screamed as the nurse handed our baby girl to her. ‘I love you’ Alicia whispered into the baby’s hair as she gave me a smile, ‘Are you gonna hold your baby daddy?’ she giggled handing me gently to her. ‘I'm gonna go call the guys.’ I said handing her back. ‘Ok hon, make it quick we gotta be a family.’ I laughed and walked toward the door

I called everyone. Gee and Anita were really excited that they were going to be god parents and Bob was happy he was going to be an uncle, Ray was already here and playing with the baby. And Mikey and Sam were just walking through the automatic doors.

‘Congrats man!’ Mikey shouted bowling me over.

‘Thank dude, I cant believe I'm so happy, this is the best thing that’s ever happened to me, apart from Alicia of course’ we laughed as Sam came and gave me a big hug and a couple of kisses.

‘Come, I’ll show you the baby.’ I said pulling her hand as she grabbed Mikey’s.

We walked inside to see a very sleepy Alicia, actually she was asleep. I smiled at her even though she couldn’t see me. She was the mother to my baby. ‘Let her sleep’ Samantha said to me, I nodded my head in agreement ‘Wake up!!!’ I heard Mikey shout shaking her shoulders. ‘What did I just say!?’ Samantha said using her strictest voice possible. ‘…Sorry’ Mikey giggled, as Alicia playfully hit his arm. ‘Lemme’ at her!’ he said holding his arms out. I placed her in Mikey’s secure arms. I glanced at Anita as she nodded giving me a reassuring smile.

‘Her name is Leila, Leila Anja Iero’ I beamed. ‘That’s beautiful.’ Samantha said smiling sweetly. ‘I know,’ I said staring at my daughter, she had jet black hair, slightly tanned skin, its was either the Italian or Greek in her giggles, and a beautiful eye colour, It was the most unusual baby eye colour I had seen, even the doctor admitted it to be very unusual. She’s only been born for less than 4 hours and she is already special – and different, she’s perfect…
