Chapter 43- Honey is for bees, silly bear.

~Patrick~
Though I was exhausted from my birthday party a couple weeks ago, it was already time for Madison's party. Just thinking about how fast she was growing up scared the shit out of me.

Four years old. How did that happen? It seems like only yesterday when I first held her in my arms. And get this, she said that she was inviting her boyfriend. What four year old has a boyfriend?!

Of course, she's excited. In fact, she's practically bouncing off the walls. And every single minute of the day until the party I was reminded that it was, in fact, her birthday.

She came skipping into the living room when I was taking advantage of the five minutes I had to rest.

“Daddy, guess what?”

I opened my eyes and rolled my head in her direction. “What?”

“It's my birthday!” She screamed, making the glass shatter (or at least it should have).

I rubbed my ear, hoping that I wasn't losing my hearing.

“Yes, I know baby, you've told me at least fifty times today.”

She tugged on my hand. “Come on daddy, we're gonna be late to the party!”

I laughed, feeling partially insane. “Maddie, we are not gonna be late to the party. It's an hour and a half away, that's, uh, three episodes of Dora the Explorer.”

“But that's gonna take forever!” She whined.

I picked her up and sat her on my lap. “It'll be here before you know it.” I said, and I set her back down.

She marched upstairs to her room, leaving me in peace and quiet.

Pete came in, coming back from picking up the birthday cake.

“Shit, this thing is heavy as fuck!” He said, setting down on the counter.

“Oh, good, I got a whole five seconds to myself. Hello, Peter.” I said, sarcastically.

He blinked, obviously confused by my frustration. “What's got your balls in a bunch? It's Maddie's birthday!”

I groaned, throwing a pillow over my head. “If I hear someone say anything about a birthday one more time, I will lose it.”

Just then, Ryan came down stairs wearing low rise black skinny jeans and a purple shirt.
“Hey you guys! I can't believe it's Madison's birthday today! Jesus, four already.”

Pete rushed to me with a concerned look on his face. Ryan also sat down next to me, taking my hand. Pete reached for my face and when it came back with tears on them, I realized that I was sobbing hysterically.

“She's growing up too fast.” I whispered to myself over and over again.

He kissed my forehead, rocking me back and forth. “Shhh... I know, and everything is gonna be fine. She's only four.”

Just then, she came downstairs and sat down on my lap.

“What's wrong daddy?” She said with sweet concern.

“Oh, honey, I was just thinking about how fast you're growing up. Soon, you'll be out on your own and you'll leave your old dad behind.” I said, sighing.

She hugged me tightly. “I won't ever leave you, I'm your little girl!”

I kissed the top of her head. “You have no idea how glad I am to hear that.”

I looked at my watch. “Well, you still have about an hour and a half until we actually leave, so go off and get into your party outfit. I'll help you with your hair in a little bit.”

“Okay.” She said, skipping up to her room.

I sighed. “I know that won't last. She won't be my baby forever, unfortunately.”

Pete took my hand and kissed it. “Don't worry about it babe, everything is gonna be fine.”

“I suppose so.”

Being in Chuck E. Cheese brought back memories. I could tell it did for Pete too because when we passed the play set, he nudged me and grinned.

By the time everyone was here, there were at least twenty screaming and laughing children running around the whole place. Unfortunately for Natasha, she was the one handing out tokens and helping them.

“Here are your tokens, Ab- Ow, don't kick me!” She screeched, grasping her leg in pain. The kids practically danced around her as they teased and poked at her.

“Hey, you're not supposed to climb that!” She yelled after a kid that started climbing the stage. After getting him down, she sat down next to us.

Trying hard not to laugh, I said, “So, how are things going?”

She snarled at me, obviously annoyed. “You two could help.”

Pete shrugged. “We are. We're supervising you helping.” He grinned, which earned him a smack on the arm by Natasha.

“I'm serious! I'm supposed to be taking it easy since I'm eight months preg-ow!” She said, rubbing her stomach.

“Are you okay?” I asked, concerned.

She nodded. “I'm fine. It must've been that pizza that's not agreeing with my stomach.”

“Alright, if you're sure you're okay...”

I looked at my watch. “Well, it's about time for cake, so I'll help rope the kids back in here. And Pete will help too.”

“I'm gonna do what?”

I pulled him to his feet. “We're gonna help Natasha get the kids back here.”

He groaned, but he followed me reluctantly, grabbing the children in light blue shirts (a trick we used to tell who's with us and who isn't).

After we gathered all of the kids, I handed a lighter to Natasha to light the four candles in the cake. Then I started off the happy birthday song, which reminded me of how that was the only song I couldn't sing right.

“Okay, now make a wish.” She closed her eyes, a concentrated look on her face. As I watched her blow out the candles, I saw Natasha grab her stomach out of the corner of my eye.

I rushed to her side, nearly knocking over a kid in the process.

“Natasha, are you okay?”

She shook her head, tears spilling out onto her cheeks. “Take me to the hospital. I think it's time.”

I picked up Madison, put my arm around Natasha, and quickly rushed her towards the door with Pete following close behind.

“Wait!” She stopped. “What about the kids?”

I smacked my forehead. “Well, obviously they won't fit in the Civic.”

“I could drive a bus or something.” Pete suggested.

I took Pete's face and kissed him hard on the lips. “Thank you Pete, thank you so much.” I handed Madison to Pete then ran towards the exit again, running out the door.

I helped Natasha into the car, making sure that she didn't hurt herself. I went to the drivers seat and took off.

The car ride was torturous. Each time Natasha let out a whimper of pain, it tore my heart little by little. I tried to drive faster, but I didn't want to get pulled over. I held her hand through the whole ride which lasted ten minutes in reality, but an eternity to me.

I helped Natasha out, taking her into the hospital. The front desk couldn't have been more far away when I finally got them there.

“She's pregnant, please, help her.” I said, almost out of breath from running.

They got her a wheel chair and wheeled her into her room with me right behind her. Setting her on the bed gently, they went back to get a doctor.

I took a hold of her hand, trying to calm her down. She practiced her breathing exercises, squeezing my hand gently.

Kissing the top of her head, I rubbed her knuckles with my thumb. “This is it. We're going to have a baby.”

She smiled weakly. “I know, I'm so excited. We'll get to find out the sex of it.”

“And I get to find out what this big secret is.” I added.

Her face twisted up in pain as she squeezed a little tighter on my hand.

“Ohhh, this hurts.” She whined, tears rolling down her face. I so badly wanted to kiss them away from her cheeks, but I refrained.

“I know, baby. Just hang in there, okay? You're doing a great job. Just keep doing those breathing exercises and you'll be fine.”

She nodded, breathing in deeply.

She was doing good with the breathing exercises. It helped her to stay calm. For a little while.

When Pete walked in, he saw me laying on the ground, Natasha gripping my hand. He looked at my strangely as I yelped in pain when she went through another contraction.

“What are you doing on the ground?”

I looked up at him, my eyes welling up with tears. “Oh, nothing, I was just taking a nap. What do you think I'm doing?!”

I tried to get away, but she just squeezed my hand tighter, pulling me closer.

“Please, Patrick, stay, I need you.” She panted, then went through another contraction. My knuckles cracked from the death grip she had on them.
“Natasha, I, uh, have to go to the bathroom! Here, Pete can hold your hand until I get back.”

Pete stared me down as I left the room, chuckling at the thought of him laying on the floor like I was.

I walked around the hospital, only stopping for a little bit to actually go to the bathroom.

A father. Again. Somehow, it felt different than getting Madison. Don't get me wrong, I love Madison to death, but this baby... this one I actually watched it grow. Right inside its mother's stomach.

I was excited. But sick at the same time. What if this child doesn't like me? What if it is more rebellious than Madison? Will I be able to handle it? Will I love it the same way I love Madison?

I shook the thought away from my head. Of course I'll love it. It's my child. I helped make it.

Well, I put at least five minutes into the making of the baby. I thought.

I decided to return to the room, thinking that Pete was being tortured enough. Just as I thought he would, he was on the floor, his hand attached to Natasha's.

“Patrick, get your baby momma to let go of me!” He said, trying to pull away from her.

I went over and pulled Natasha's grasp on Pete apart, then took her hand.

“He's a terrible coach.” She huffed.

Pete stared wide-eyed at her. “I tried to get you to do the breathing thing but all you did was scream at me!”

“Because you were doing it wrong!” She screeched, then another contraction came on. Surprisingly, it didn't hurt as bad. I could tell that she was trying to hold back.

The doctor came in, lifting up the sheet to look at her progression.

“Well, it looks like you are just about ready to push. Are you ready to show your baby to the world?”

She nodded. “Get this baby out of me!”

Her face glistened with sweat as she pushed, her face twisting up.

“Okay, that was a good start. Now, push a little harder and I'm gonna count to ten.”

She nodded, running her free hand through her hair.

“Okay, push, one, two, three, four....”

She pushed harder, gripping my hand tightly.

“Come on, Tasha, push, you can do it.” I whispered in her ear, kissing her cheek softly.
The doctor ordered to push again, and she did as she was told.

“Good, I can see the head crowning.” He said. “Do you want to look, sir?”

I wasn't sure if I wanted to, but I let go of Natasha's hand anyway and peaked underneath the sheet.

If I had a weaker stomach, I would've thrown up. And I was lucky that I didn't pass out.

I quickly went back to Natasha's side and took her hand.

“I'm not gonna do that again.” I remarked, which got a chuckle out of the doctor.

“Okay, push one more time and I think we can this baby out.”

Natasha pushed, squeezing my hand so hard that I could've sworn she was breaking my bones. Soon, I heard a cry fill the room and I saw a baby in his hands.

It was a girl. A sweet baby girl. I was so happy that tears spilled down my cheeks.

I bent down over Natasha and kissed her forehead. “What's the baby's name?”

She smiled. “Sophie Lynn Stump.”

I smiled back, kissing her again. “That's a beautiful name.”

The doctor handed the cleaned up baby to me, which was bundled up in a light pink blanket. She was crying at first, but stopped when she looked up at me with big green eyes. She looked a lot like Madison.

He sat down at the foot of Natasha's bed again and said, “Okay, now we need to push again to get the other one out.”

I nearly dropped Sophie. “Another one?”

Natasha nodded. “That was the surprise.” She smiled briefly, but stopped when she began to push.

The second one came out quicker than the first, coming out within five minutes. He held it up for me to see. A baby boy.

I was happy that I had a boy to pass on the Stump name (though I was teased for it). After they cleaned him up, they handed him to Natasha, a blue cloth around him.

I took a seat in the chair next to her. “So, the secret was twins?”

She nodded. “Yes. I thought it'd be a nice if I just waited and surprised you.”

“Well, it was a nice surprise. Not only do I have one sweet baby, but I have two!”

I looked up at the doctor who was still standing in the room. “Will you please tell my boyfriend to come in here?”

He nodded, exiting the room. Shortly afterward, Pete entered, several kids following close behind.

“Pete, they still haven't gone home yet?”

“Relax, I called all of their parents and they should be here soon.”

He walked over to me, looking at the baby in my arms. “Oh, she's so beautiful, Patrick.” He kissed her on the forehead.

I laughed. “Don't tell me that, tell her.” I said, pointing at Natasha.

He looked up at her, his jaw dropping. “Twins?” He sputtered out.

She smiled. “Yep. Sophie Lynn Stump and Brendon Lewis Stump.”

“Hey, you used one of my middle names!” He grinned.

“Intentionally, of course. I wanted some part of you to be in the kids.”

I looked down at the little bundle that I held in my arms. She was so small, and yet, the love I felt for her was huge.

I felt like I never wanted to let her go until Natasha asked, “Do you wanna trade?”

I nodded, then we carefully switched children. Brendon was a little heavier, but still smaller than the average baby. The same as Sophie, I felt tons of love for this small child.

Soon, the children from Madison's birthday disappeared, leaving only one four year old, which was Madison of course.

She came over to me, staring down at the baby in my arms. “Is that my baby brother?” She asked, curiosity in her eyes.

“Yes, Madison, I'd like you to meet Brendon Lewis Stump.”

She looked down at him, then kissed the top of his head. I wished that I had a camera.

Little did I know, Pete did, which he did use to take a picture of us.

“Hey, Madison, do you want to meet your baby sister?” Natasha asked, looking over at her.

She nodded, then walked over to her.

“This is Sophie Lynn Stump.”

Madison kissed Sophie's head too, which Pete got a picture of.
The flash of the camera made Sophie start to cry, tears spilling down her cheeks.

Natasha tried to calm her down, but she continued to cry.

“Patrick, help me.” She cried, handing her to me, taking Brendon.

“What am I supposed to do? I'm not some baby whisperer.” I said, trying to shush her.

“Patrick, why don't you try singing to her? That always worked for Madison.” Pete suggested.

I nodded. “Okay, I'll try.”

As soon as the perfect song came to mind, I began to sing.

Honey is for bees, silly bear.
Besides, there's jellybeans everywhere.
It's not what it seems in the land of dreams.
Don't worry your head, just go to sleep.

It was a quick little song Pete wrote as a bonus track for Folie A Deux, but also doubled as a song for me to sing to Madison to help her sleep.

I continued to sing until her eye lids drooped shut, her chest rising and lowering evenly.

“She's asleep.” I whispered, trying not to wake her.

“Brendon's asleep too.” Natasha said, smiling.

I looked over at Madison who was rubbing her eyes sleepily. She saw me looking and quickly tried to look alert.

I chuckled, knowing that the song still had an effect on her.

Pete came over to me, looking down at Sophie. “She's so beautiful, Patrick.” He whispered. He kissed me on the lips, lingering longer than he should have. “You seem to be good at making beautiful children.” He looked over at Madison, who beamed up at him.

I looked at all three of my children, loving each and every one of them equally.

“Yeah, I really am.”
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Well, Natasha finally had the baby. Or babies, rather. Some of you guessed the twin thing (okay, one of you), but I tried to keep it a secret anyway. And I actually kinda gave you a hint with the title of what was gonna happen in this chapter. "Honey is for bees, silly bear." was a line in the HIDDEN bonus track Lullaby on Folie A Deux. It's a very sweet song that was written for Bronx, Pete's little bundle of joy. But anyway, hope you like the names, haha.
burndownthedisco: Yeah, the shower scene seemed to be a big hit, haha. I'm glad you enjoyed it. And Dora is awesome, so that's why I put that in there. :)
xFallxOutxBoyxFanx: Well, I'm glad that you found my story again. It's always nice to regain fans! Keep reading, and don't forget about me! :D
alex_-nods-: Yes, because the new Natasha was a whore! :D
Sasuke_Gaara_Edward: I swear, I have watched several episodes of Dora, it's scary. Jesus, if Ryan was in MY shower... he would never leave, haha. :)
I got a lot of reviews this time! But please, don't stop. I definitely enjoyed them and I like being told that I'm doing a good job. Keep it up, and keep reading!
